Randy received his first camera (Argus C3) as a gift for his 12th birthday, sparking a lifelong passion for photography. He spent the first 35 years of his career as a photojournalist with the Lincoln Journal Star as photographer and photo editor. He's also shared his talents with Black Star as a commercial and publication photographer and with the University of Nebraska as an Adjunct Professor. In 2000, Randy turned his eye to teaching with Digital Camera Workshops. Using small class size and hands-on instruction, he has taught literally thousands of professional and amateur photographers the finer points of digital photography. In 2009, Randy launched Photography Design Studio, a fully-equipped studio designed by photographers, for photographers. The studio, conveniently located near 56th and Hwy 2, is available for rent by both amateur and professional photographers who need a private and well-equipped work space for their photography projects. Along with Digital Camera Workshops and Photography Design Studio, Randy currently teaches photography at Doane College in Crete, NE and shoots for several publications and commercial clients. A native Nebraskan, Randy lives in Lincoln with Lynette, his bride of 42 years. |
